Latino Youth High School
Latino Youth High School (LYHS) is a division of Pilsen Wellness Center and is an affiliated campus of Youth Connections Charter School, with additional funding support from the Alternative Schools Network. LYHS serves the educational needs of Hispanic and non-Hispanic youth in the city of Chicago who seek to complete a secondary education and earn a high school diploma, including those facing academic and personal challenges. We implement a student-centered approach that emphasizes high quality and individualized instruction, backed by academic and support programs that include; tutoring, counseling, remediation programs, life skills and leadership development, student wellness services, support program for foster care students, and employment opportunities.
We have a team of nurturing, supportive and committed certified teachers, staff and management, who understand the academic and personal obstacles that our youth face in today’s society, which can prevent them from completing a traditional high school education. Our team’s focus and goal is to assure that our students earn a diploma that will enhance their employment opportunities and also prepare them to pursue a college education
