To the Family and Friends of Marlen

On behalf of the administration, faculty, and students of Latino Youth High School, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Marlen Ochoa-Lopez.

The tragic circumstances of her senseless death only increase our present sorrow. Marlen will be remembered as a sweet, beautiful, and hardworking young woman who strove to make a better life for herself and her family.

As a community, we must gather together to mourn her loss and celebrate the precious impact her life had on both students and faculty alike. As the LYHS community grieves her passing, the shared and happy memories of her time spent at school offer some consolation.

Grief counselors will be available at the school throughout the week to help students, parents, and friends dealing with this heartbreaking loss.

Please keep Marlen and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

James J. Hurlburt
